A phenomenally useful list of links to sites that we think will be of use in your quest to become a surgeon. Please use the comments box to suggest others.

ASiT – The Association of Surgeons in Training is a charity which works to promote the highest standards in surgical training. Students can join for a concessional fee. They hold an annual conference around March of each year with academic and topical presentations; I highly recommend attending!

RCSEd – The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is, unlike their title suggests, an international surgical college. I particularly like their student affiliate scheme and the workshops they occasionally run. Additionally, they also distribute a few Elective Bursaries each year – definitely worth applying for! View their flyer here.

ePortfolio - A surgical logbook is essential to record your surgical experience. Although it might not seem essential now, its importance grows as you progress through your career. Best get into the routine early!
